Abra HRMS V7.7 & V8.4 Released

Sage Software released new Abra HRMS V7.7 and V8.4 (SQL) versions last week. They will start shipping the new versions beginning next week. If you subscribe to its annual support and don't receive the upgrade CDs with Instructions by August 31, please contact us at 914-980-1472.

Abra HRMS Users Group Meeting October 3

Abra HRMS & Crystal Reports Tips & Tricks

Abra HR - Criteria Table

If you want a report of only those employees who are currently Active and Regular Full Time, add a criteria by going to HR, Rules, Criteria Table, click Add, copy and paste "Active RFT" to Description and Pe.p_active = "A" AND Pe.p_employ = "RFT" to Criteria Expression and click Ok. You can then use the selection criteria for any standard reports in HR by going to Reports, HR, select any report in any reports category, Standard Criteria tab, Custom Criteria, Custom Criteria Table, select "Active RFT" and Preview. Abra HR - Benefit Setup & Benefit Letter

You can setup insurance and savings benefit plans by inputting Employee & Dependent Premium and Employee Contribution by going to Rules, HR, Benefits and Insurance & Savings Benefits, Add and input parameter and produce Benefit Letter as shown in the sample attachments.

Crystal Reports - Parameter Fields

If you wish to produce any ad hoc report for different groups and/or periods at the point of printing, you can do so by following the steps below:

  1. Right click on Parameter Fields under Field Explorer, click New, specify Name, Prompting Text and Value Type, and set Default Value if needed.
  2. Go to Select Expert, click New, select the field name you wish to check with the Parameter Field(s), select the comparison type, select the Parameter Field(s), and click Ok.
  3. When you preview the report, it will ask you the different groups and/or periods you wish to report. Then you will get a report of only those employee data you specified in the Parameter Fields.

This feature of Crystal Reports is very useful because you can use the same report for different groups and/or periods at the time of actually printing without having to create many reports for various groups and/or periods.

Price Increases Effective 10/01/2008

As usual, Sage Software increases prices for all Abra HRMS modules and add-ons effective October 1. If you wish to purchase and/or add additional Abra HRMS modules, please make sure you do so before the end of September so that you could get them at the current lower prices.

Same holds true with Abra HRMS annual support renewals. Even if Abra HRMS current annual support expires on or after October 1, you can renew them at the current lower price if you pay for them before the end of September. Please make sure you renew the support through Usercom Systems so that you could receive the support from both Sage Software and Usercom Systems for the same price.
