Abra HRMS & Crystal Reports Tips & Tricks

Abra HRMS - Mass Update

If you like to quickly and easily correct and/or clean up the incorrect data in your Abra HRMS database, you can use the built-in Mass Update feature. BEFORE you do any mass updates, MAKE SURE you backup the data by going to Process, System and Backup Data. You can do the mass update with conditions by going to Process, HR and Mass Update AFTER you have all other Abra users logged out:

1. Select the file name you wish to deal with.
2. Select the field name you wish to mass update.
3. Built the record selection criteria using Expression Builder, if needed.
4. Directly input the New Value in proper format (e.g. "new value" for character data, 999.99 for numeric and {12/31/2008} for dates)
5. Click Ok. Then the System will give you the number of records to be mass updated. If the number of records is assumed to be correct, click Ok again to do the actual mass update.
6. MAKE SURE you randomly verify the mass updated data before moving on.
7. If you find the data are incorrectly mass updated, RESTORE the data by going to Process, System and Restore Data, and do the mass update again.

Crystal Reports - Special Fields

There are many pre-defined Special Fields you can put anywhere in your ad hoc reports. They include Page Number, Print Date, Print Time and Page N of M. You can find them by going to Field Explorer and click "+" sign in front of Special Fields. You can drag and drop any of them into any of the Crystal Reports you designed.

Price Increases Effective 10/01/2008

As usual, Sage Software increases prices for all Abra HRMS modules and add-ons effective October 1. If you wish to purchase and/or add additional Abra HRMS modules, please make sure you do so before the end of September so that you could get them at the current lower prices. Same holds true with Abra HRMS annual support renewals. Even if Abra HRMS current annual support expires on or after October 1, you can renew them at the current lower price if you pay for them before the end of September. Please make sure you renew the support through Usercom Systems so that you can receive the support from both Sage Software and Usercom Systems for the same price.
